BMP's

Part of TRPA’s commitment to protecting the water quality of Lake Tahoe is the implementation of Best Management Practices or BMP’s. BMP’s are erosion control measures that are intended to prevent water from running beyond the boundaries of a parcel and into the Lake. Every BMP plan must be designed by taking into account factors such as soil type, lot slope, and geometry of the surfaces that are generating the runoff. The staff at Shelton & Bacon has completed well over 1,000 BMP plans for projects within the Tahoe Basin. We can design a comprehensive BMP plan that includes temporary and permanent erosion control measures. We can interpret the results of a BMP site evaluation to make sure an appropriate design is completed.
